CAMP DAY-1

 The five-day community living camp named Vivida commenced on 3rd September 2024. Registration began promptly at 8:30 AM, followed by students marching in groups at 9:30 AM. The college principal, Mr. Riju John, hoisted the flag and officially inaugurated the camp.

The formal inauguration of Vivida was led by the esteemed Rev. Jacob, and the event was inaugurated by the Kollam District Panchayat President, Mr. P.K. Gopan. In his keynote address, the chief guest emphasized the importance of engaging student-teachers in discussions on societal issues, thereby fostering a deeper connection with the community.

After the inauguration ceremony, there was a tea break. At 12:00 PM, renowned poet Sri. Kurippuzha Sreekumar presented the concept of Vivida, marking the first session of the camp. Through his captivating poetry, he took the us on a nostalgic journey into childhood, reciting and singing children's poems. These were hours that brought back memories of youth and innocence.

After lunch at 1:15 PM, the next session began at 1:45 PM with journalist Nishanth Mavilaveettil. He engaged us


with an interactive discussion on the topic "From Laughter to Thought," where students participated actively by asking questions and sharing their thoughts. He successfully conveyed the message that laughter itself can be a medium for deeper contemplation.

Following a tea break at 3:00 PM, the final session of the day was led by Mrs. A.G. Oleena, the Director of the Kerala Literacy Mission. She brilliantly discussed the vital topic of gender equality, highlighting the importance of both gender equality and gender justice. Her class provided valuable insights into understanding and correcting the many misconceptions surrounding these issues.

The day's events concluded with the release of the day's news bulletin by Mrs. Shijina Jose, marking the end of the first day of the camp.
